Top 3 Mobile Phone Brands, 2012

It used to be that Nokia was what spelled the words mobile phone.  But now if you googled best brands or top brands Nokia is referred to in the past tense and we now have Apple, Sony Ericsson, Blackberry, Samsung, HTC and Motorola as revered brands.  Apple and Samsung seem to be neck and neck when it comes to mobile phone models that sell.  There seems to be a collective agreement that the best models are the Apple iPhone 4s which has been followed by 5s and there's the HTC windows Smartphone, another model being talked about is the Samsung Fascinate i500 Smartphone Verizon and Sony Ericsson Xperia's X10 is not far behind as a subject worth talking about.  Besides, rating mobile phones by model and features is a matter of opinion. Really, it all depends upon the user and the users needs.  So, if we agree to look at it the business way, rating the top 3 mobile phones would be simpler.  According to a news article published by the Business Wire
(businesswire.com), "Strategy Analytics: Global Mobile Phone Shipments Reach 1.6 Billion Units in 2012", Samsung took the lead with 396.5 million in global mobile phone shipments.  This was apparently due to increased demands on their Galaxy models.  Nokia stood second with 335.6 and Apple came in third with 135.8 million, their iPhone5 not failing to gather enough audience.

Interestingly, TechWizzard came up with its own list of twenty best selling mobile phones for 2012.  Samsung again dominated the list with eight models listed. The Samsung Galaxy SIII headed the listing among their wide array of products.  Second place diverted to Blackberry though, with seven of its models being featured and its Blackberry 9650 Bold model managing to be named first in the list.  Apple was third with four of its models highlighted and their iPhone5 is listed as their best selling model as well.

Samsung has been loudly proclaimed as last years best selling brand. Very loudly too, in an article published by ST Breaking News with an article title of "Samsung Is Top 2012 Brand, Ousting Nokia".  According to the same article, this marks the first time the South Korean electronics giant occupied the top of the list.  Also a first that the Finnish company has been toppled off.  It also implies that this won't be the only year Samsung could be holding that spot. 2013 is here, we'll soon be looking at a year ending list but so far, Samsung models seem to dominate what prospective mobile phone buyers are looking for.  Top 2, and 3 best selling mobile phones may actually differ depending on which or who's list you're looking at but since Apple is consistently mentioned even in the 2 lists above, I'd say Apple is number two. Now, mainly because I'm a BlackBerry user, I like to think that BlackBerry was the third best selling mobile phone for last year.
