2nd Mankayan Mountain Marathon / Ultra

April 9, 2016

Mankayan is a small municipality in the outskirts of Benguet with a population of not more than 50,000, at least according to the 2010 national census. The place is now a mining town although in the olden days, it is said to be a thickly forested area where hunters used to hunt deer. The name Mankayan is derived from a dialect word "Nangkayang" meaning 'way up to the eastern mountains'. The word soon evolved to Mankayan which is now how the place is called.
The terrain in the small town of Mankayan would be an excellent challenge to our sports enthusiasts, this is coupled with the cool wind yet sunny weather to make it a perfect marathon experience. Everyone is invited to experience this unique northern outdoor challenge!

The marathon has 2 categories: 30KM and 60KM with a registration fee of PHP1500 and PHP2800 respectively.  The fees include a personalized bib, certificate, carboloading, post-race meal, finisher's shirt, and a finisher's gong.
